Since Dr. Loftus began her plastic surgery practice in 1995, it has grown each year as satisfied patients have referred their family and friends for her
services. But, long before Dr. Loftus could provide the personalized, high quality care she now offers, she undertook years of rigorous education, which began at the University of Wisconsin in 1981. Her training led her to the University of California-Davis and to the University of Cincinnati, which is widely considered to be one of the most prestigious plastic surgery training programs in the country. But, before considering her 14 years of college, medical school, and residency complete, Dr. Loftus pursued a cosmetic surgery fellowship at the University of Miami in Florida in 1995. Dr. Loftus has since been in the practice of cosmetic plastic surgery in the Cincinnati area and has been named one of Cincinnati’s most influential women by the Cincinnati Post.
“I chose plastic surgery because, through it, I can change people in ways they never imagined possible. A change in appearance can transform someone’s whole outlook on life. Being a part of this metamorphosis is the most important and pleasurable part of my work.”
Following her training, Dr. Loftus earned certification by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Head and Neck Surgery. Only 100 other surgeons in the country have achieved this double board certification. Dr. Loftus is proud of this distinction and feels that if helps her deliver the highest quality of care to her patients.
Dr. Loftus is considered a national authority on plastic surgery, and has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, and THE TODAY SHOW, THE VIEW, and DATELINE NBC discussing all facets of cosmetic plastic surgery. The media recognizes her as an ethical, compassionate, and influential surgeon, who maintains patient safety and satisfaction as her top priorities. They know that when they ask Dr. Loftus questions, they will get objective, up-to-date, state-of-the-art information on every area of plastic surgery.
“Even though I am considered an expert, I will never consider my knowledge complete. This is because medicine changes rapidly. To keep up with these advances, I have obtained hundreds of hours of continuing medical education. That is also why professional memberships are so important. They give me an opportunity to meet with colleagues, evaluate new techniques, and share ideas on how to get the best results for my patients with the least risk and fastest recovery.”
Dr. Loftus is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the most selective and elite society for plastic surgeons. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, for which she has been granted the privilege to use the initials F.A.C.S after her name.
Dr. Loftus feels a commitment to her specialty as an expert and therefore has published several articles in distinguished medical journals. She also recognized the need for a truly honest source of information about cosmetic surgery for patients. The fruit of her efforts, The Smart Woman’s Guide to Plastic Surgery, is the best-selling book on plastic surgery in the U.S. This book has helped thousands of women across the country who may never have the opportunity to meet Dr. Loftus in person.
